Connecticut Counseling & Wellness (formerly the Counseling Center of Waterbury) is one of the few counseling agencies in Connecticut that has a licensed therapist who possesses the United States Department of Transportation’s Substance Abuse Professional credential, and are therefore able to provide DOT substance abuse evaluations. If you’re an employer or employee that is regulated by one of the six agencies governed by the US DOT there are strict return-to-duty guidelines that must be followed for any employee who tests positive for drugs or alcohol while working in a safety-sensitive position.
Specifically encompassed in Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 40, the Office of Drug & Alcohol Policy & Compliance (ODAPC) publishes, implements and provides authoritative interpretations of these regulations. It is the responsibility of the Designated Employer Representative (DER) to facilitate the compliance of these regulations for your organization.
